Arboretum facilities have expanded significantly thanks to donation

Our facilities at the Arboretum have expanded significantly thanks to donation.

Thanks to a generous donation new composting toilets have been installed near the working woodland area, expanding our facilities significantly and enabling the site to cater more fully for both visitors and on-site staff. 

These sustainable eco-friendly toilets save 2 litres of fresh water each time they are used. 
We aim to use the composting toilets as an educational tool in its own right.
Visitors will be able to learn about the workings of the arboretum from the materials used in the construction of the building, the process and the reasons for building it, to the way the waste is managed and the benefits to the plants growing at the Arboretum!
