A tour of the medicinal plant collection with Dr Sue Burge

Discover the medicinal plant collection in Oxford Botanic Garden and meet some of the plants that underpin modern medicines. The Walled Garden dates back to the Botanic Garden's foundation in 1621 and is the Garden's oldest section. Former Director of Clinical Studies at the University of Oxford and retired Consultant Dermatologist Sue Burge looks back at how these plants have been used medicinally throughout history. Sue will show a range of plants including examples of those used in oncology (cancer), dermatology (skin complaints), cardiology (heart complaints), and infectious disease. She may even throw in a little magic – can you make witches' flying ointment? A fantastic opportunity to learn more about these incredible plants.
