Bird ID for beginners (AM)

Do you enjoy seeing and hearing birds, but need some help to identify them? Then flock to the Oxford Botanic Garden and join University of Oxford ornithologist Professor Ben Sheldon in search of the birds that call this part of Oxford their home. Use apps to help you identify birdsong and become a citizen scientist as you upload photos and sound clips to support national species recording initiatives. No previous birding experience required.

Please bring binoculars if you have them, and for the best experience, download the Merlin and iNaturalist apps to your smartphone:

Your ticket will also give you access to the Botanic Garden between 10am and 6pm, where there are lots more water and wildlife activities taking place throughout the day. Why not treat yourself to some breakfast in the city between 8.45am and 10.00am whilst the Garden is closed?

Please note, this event is for ages 13+.
