The Barber Institute of Fine Arts is hosting an exhibition Hidden Lives of Plants: Botanical Illustrations from the V&A. The Bobarts Patrons' group will see the illustrations, together with historic printed herbals and other material from the University of Birmingham’s own collection. One of the curators will give a short introduction, and there will be time to see some of the permanent collection too.
From there the Bobarts Patrons group will travel the short distance to Winterbourne House and Garden for a sandwich buffet lunch, followed by a guided tour of the gardens. Winterbourne was originally created in 1903 using the books of Gertrude Jekyll as guides and inspiration. Both house and garden are open until 5pm. When you book your tickets, please confirm below if you have any dietary requirements for lunch or whether you would be interested in car sharing.
