Bobarts Event: The Grange, Chalgrove

Cancelled due to flooding

Regretfully this event has been cancelled due to flood damage of the site caused by the sustained rainfall over the past few weeks.

We hope to rearrange a visit again next year, but in the meantime we will make contact with ticket holders to arrange refunds as soon as possible.

Mrs Vicky Farren has kindly invited the Bobarts Patrons' group to visit her 11 acres of gardens, which she has spent some years restoring, and enjoy the late summer planting there. Vicky has a background in floristry and design and a passion for colour.
The garden includes herbaceous borders, a large expanse of prairie where many grasses weave their magic and a wildflower meadow. There is a lake with bridges and a planted island, a dry riverbed and a labyrinth. A brook runs through the garden with a further pond, arboretum, old orchard and partly walled vegetable garden.

For those who do not know the nearby St Mary’s church, you might consider arriving early in Chalgrove, giving yourself time to experience the internationally important scheme of medieval painting on the upper walls of the chancel.

Tea and homemade cake will be served.
