Booking Information
Dear Valued Visitors,
We hope you have enjoyed your visits to the Oxford Botanic Garden and Arboretum. We are committed to maintaining and enhancing the beauty and educational value of our gardens for everyone to enjoy.
Due to recent changes, we are introducing a new ticket pricing structure starting 1 November 2024. This means we will no longer be able to offer free concessionary tickets.
Day tickets continue to be available however to continue enjoying unlimited* access to our sites, you may wish to consider becoming a member of the Friends of Oxford Botanic Garden or purchase an annual pass. These options offer great value and help support our ongoing efforts.
Our strategic aims are to inspire a greater appreciation of plants and the environment, to advance knowledge through research and education, and to conserve plant diversity for future generations. Your support is vital in helping us achieve these goals. We understand that this may be disappointing news, and we appreciate your understanding and thank you for your continued support.
You can buy a ticket on the door on the day of your visit. We recommend that you pre-book online during busy periods, particularly if travelling by car as we have limited parking spaces. Bookings are non-refundable and non-transferable; we cannot amend these over the phone, so please take care when selecting the day and time. You can explore the Arboretum virtually with our virtual visit. Groups of 15 or more people must pre-book on our group visits page - entry cannot be guaranteed during busy periods.
If you would like to purchase an Arboretum entry ticket as a gift, you can do so here.
Insight Tours at the Arboretum
Everyone is welcome to join these free tours on the first Wednesday of every month. They're a unique opportunity for Arboretum staff to share the site's latest developments, and for visitors to give their thoughts and opinions, as well as to ask questions. They start at 1:30 from our Welcome Center, there is no additional fee and booking is not required for the Insight Tours, just turn up.
Closure Notices
Occasionally there are closures to parts of our site for general maintenance, education groups, and events. Please call our office in advance of your visit if you would like to check a specific date, or click here to see a list of scheduled closures.
The Friends' 400th Anniversary Appeal
Access for all at the Arboretum
The Friends have undertaken to raise the funds to improve the path network: both restoring the existing paths and upgrading others to improve access to areas of the site hitherto inaccessible to many people, in particular those visitors with wheelchairs and buggies. Find out more here.
